“ In the Seattle area for work, it's late and I'm craving Mediterranean food. I'm thinking a gyro or some souvlaki would be great. I type in Mediterranean food into the pocket computer and Lido Kitchen comes up number one. Bonus that it's a quick hop from the hotel. On yet another call and walk in to sit down. Owner (seemed like the owner) came over and was super pleasant. Put a complimentary cup of tea in front of me and asked if I had ever tried Somali/East African food before. No sir, I have not. He gave me a quick run down of what's popular on the menu and I thought let's give it a try. Wow! So glad I stayed put and tried it. I took his recommendation and ordered the chicken suqar plate with an order of beef sambusas for a starter. I saw a photo of the beef sambusas on my way in and they looked good. They also looked small, like a guy could eat one or two and share with friends. When they came out I was shocked. A guy and and two friends could eat those if they were hungry. They were cooked right, not greasy and had an excellent flavor. I could see onions and taste the different seasonings. The chicken suqar plate was the highlight. Chicken, onions, bell peppers and seasoned very well. The chicken was very moist and I was looking up recipes to try at home before I finished. The service was great and it was a comfortable place to eat dinner. I would gladly come back when I'm in town for work. ”
“ we were in a hurry last night to meet some friends. we jumped off the freeway way to grab food here. we only had the reviews to go bye. the service was awesome from the min. we stepped in. We communicated that we were in a hurry he said 10 min. we were like "wow ok". he brought us a delicious cup of warm spiced tea while we waited, then he came out with fresh samosa's? hat a great surprise while we waited, they were spot on delicious. We had the beef and rice dish along with the chicken wings and the flavors were awesome and the wings were super tender. We were very pleased and will go back again. Keep up the good work gentlemen!!!!! ”
“ Went to Lido Kitchen a week ago, ordered 2 chicken sugaars to dine in with my kid and wings to-go for the husband. The food was super tasty. My husband ate up the wings so quickly when we got home I wasn't able to steal a bite. That says a lot because the hub is super picky about chicken wings. ”
“ Food was SO good and the staff was super friendly. Especially loved the goat! So much flavor and clearly cooked with a lot of love. The atmosphere is... a work in progress, but with such tasty food, I really don't care. ”
“ The food is AHH-MAAAZ-ING!!! I enjoyed some Somali shaah (tea), which was deliciously spiced & satisfying . I ordered the chicken suuqar, the flavors (savory/sweet) were very delicious & delectably balanced. I also ordered some samosas, which were great with the lime and a little of the hot sauce, it's served with. I also sampled the curry, with rice & I enjoyed it so much. Really looking forward to tasting the ENTIRE menu! ”
“ Excellent service and food! We stopped here after landing and so glad we did. We got the beef sambusas (must try), chicken wings, and chicken suqar plate. Their homemade hot sauce was delicious and extra spicy! If you're in the area, you must try it. ”
“ Some of the absolute best Somalian food we have ever had! The staff their is absolutely fantastic! ”
“ I decided to check out Lido Kitchen, a somalian and middle eastern contemporary fusion spot, in #Tukwila, with a few friends. Abdul was an excellent host, with superb customer service, who was super enthusiastic we were there to try their food. The #chaitea was fabulous! So delicious! #ILoveTea For apps, we got the #beefsambusas (spring roll like wrapper, seasoned beef...yummy by itself, BUT suuuuper good with their green hot sauce! #nomnomnom) and the #chickenwings (super tasty and tender!!) Entrees we got the #goatmeatplate (cooked perfectly with veggies and rice which was also super flavorful!), #chickensuqaarplate (somalian staple...super simple, yet flavorful!), #beefsuqaarplate (somalian staple, perfectly cooked), and the #lambshankplate (lamb was fall off the bone tender). Abdul gifted us curry to try on the rice. #yummm You KNOW the food is good when all of a sudden the table goes silent! I was absolutely in #foodieheaven annnd have a huge box to go home Will absolutely be back. “ We visited on a late weekday afternoon. The restaurant was nearly empty, so we had complete attention of the server. Abdul was very friendly and professional. We briefly discussed the menu options, and placed our order. We ordered the wing appetizer, chicken suqar and beef suqar. Abdul surprised us with a complementary order of one of their popular appetizers, beef sambusas. They were freshly fried and piping hot. It was a good comfort-food appetizer. The main entrees were a little lacking in the quantity of meat. The beef wasn't very tender, but had good flavor. I imagine it would be better if it were served medium-rare. We were a little disappointed in the lack of vegetable options. The chicken saqur was tasty, but again, a pretty small portion and a little overcooked. The side of rice had the right texture and very subtle flavor, good for a side without stealing the limelight from the entree. The noodle side dish was definitely the worst item. The noodles were basically spaghetti noodles without much seasoning and fairly dry. The chicken wings were amongst the best I've ever had. The flavors were unique, the sauce glazed on after a good cook. The wings are the rockstar at this little hole-in-the-wall! ”
